Official Rules

Standard basketball rules will apply, with the following notes:

• There will be zero tolerance for bad language, confrontations (both verbal and physical) and arguing with or disrespecting the referees calls.

• Any player can be kicked out of the tournament, without compensation at the referees or tournament directors discretion.  Each player will get 1 warning at best for any infraction before they will be asked to leave.

• Each team will play a minimum of 3 season games.

• All teams will make the playoffs, which will begin single elimination rounds.

• All teams must have a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 10 players.  

• Each game will be a timed 20 minute game.

• Each team will have one (1) 30 sec timeout per game during the season games.  During the championship game each team will have two (2) timeouts. 

• Scoring

  • 1 point for shots inside the 3 point arch

  • 2 points for shot outside the 3 point arch

• Fouls

  • Each player will be allowed 4 fouls per game.  Upon reaching 4 fouls the player will be eliminated from the current game.

  • There are no free throws.

  • If you are fouled while attempting a shot and you make the shot you will be awarded the point but there will be no free throw and a foul will be counted against the fouler

  • If you are fouled while attempting a shot and you miss the shot you will be awarded possession of the ball and a foul will be counted against the fouler.

  • Fouls during play result in possession at the top of the key and foul counted against fouler.

• Out of bounds

  • The ball gets checked in wherever it went out of bounds.

• Delay of Game

  • If a player is injured to the point of stopping play then the player must substitute out of play

  • Players are encouraged not to intentionally hold the ball to waste the Game Clock.

  • Backcourt Violation will result in a change of possession.

Additional Information

Check-in will begin at 11:00 am at Jax Church annex, where lunch will be served.  

The first game will be at 1:00 pm.  The cost is $50 and includes the tournament, jerseys and lunch. The 3 pool play games will take place at both locations and the final 4 will take place at JAX Church.
